The athletics union started on a great scale with the use of AED’s (automatic external defibrillator) at medium-sized till big running events. It seems that the threshold to start running has become lower and lower. Running is a recognized way to live healthy and fit. Together with Procardio (www.procardio.nl the supplies of the AED’s) the athletics union can provide AED’s for this running event. Because of this risks on decease caused by a cardiac arrest during a running event can be limited. Crisis centre
Directly after the finish there is a crisis centre. You can only come to this centre if your family of friend is lost for a long time and suspect they have got medical problems. This centre is not for any questions on results, bus transfer or any other kind. Massage
Before and after the Dam tot Damloop participants can get a massage at the Dam tot Dam Park. Business runners can also get this at the clothing tent at the Dam tot Dam park. A massage takes around 20 minutes. The average waiting time is 45 minutes. You are requested to bring a towel. The massage is provided by the NGS (Nederlands Genootschap voor Sportmassage).
